The power of genes sets standards: Destano II's sire, Destano, was the I-a main premium winner at the 2011 Oldenburg Hengsttage in Vechta. After evaluation of his performance record in sport, assessment of his first crop and current physical state, the stallion committee declared him the absolute "Number One" of four and a half-year old stallions in a field of strong competitors that were also presenting their first crops.
Destano's sire, Desperados, won the German Dressage Derby in 2010 and International GP in 2011, winning several international Grand Prixs with Kristina Sprehe in Rotterdam/Netherlands, Verden, Oldenburg and Stuttgart and crowned his career with the team silver medal at the Olympic Games in London in 2012. In 2013, they belonged to the gold team at the European Championship in Herning and were on fifth place in both, the Grand Prix Special and Freestyle. In 2014 he was member of the WC gold winning team in Caen/FRA and became towering German Champion in Balve. The dam's sire Brentano II is State Stud sire in Celle. This liver chestnut stallion was licensing winner, finalist at the Bundeschampionat and trained up to Grand Prix level. Due to his outstanding breeding record as dressage sire he was nominated "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 2003.
Destano II's dam's sire is none other than the famous DiMaggio.
The DiMaggio offspring have reached the upper house of dressage: In 2014 Half Moon Delphi was under Michael Eilberg, as member of the British team, Vice World Champion in Caen/FRA and placed fourth in the Nations Cup in Aachen, after winning the team bronze medal at the European Championship in Herning/DEN in 2013. In addition, Headmore Delegate is also successful in international Grand Prixs. At the WC for young dressage horses the licensed stallion Auheims's Del Magico took silver for Austria in the section of six-year old dressage horses. In the final of the Bundeschampionat for five-year old dressage horses Fünf Sterne made it to be placed.
DiMaggio ranked fourth at the 1999' Bundeschampionat, became World Champion of five-year old dressage horses in Arnheim/NED in 2000 and was then victorious up to Inter I. In 2002, he presented the British Warmblood Champion and the British Sport Horse Champion, both originating from his first crop in Great Britain. After his return
DiMaggio made a perfect debut as sire. Right from his first crop in Germany, all three presented colts, which were as well sold for top prices as foals at elite auctions, have been licensed. In the meantime, the number of licensed sons has increased to 20, thereunder FS Demiral, who was finalist at the Bundeschampionat for young dressage horses and is now winning up to Inter I.
In 2012 the DiMaggio daughter Dimma became Westphalian Champion Mare in Münster-Handorf after winning the bronze medal at the German Elite Mare Championship in Lienen. Sophie trotted to her title of 1. Reserve Champion Mare in Rastede in 2010. The two-time record World Champion of young dressage horses Woodlander Farouche is as well out of a dam by DiMaggio. In 2006, a daughter of DiMaggio won the silver medal at the German Foal Championship in Lienen.
Among the 111 sport-tested offspring sired by DiMaggio 30 of them have current achievements in advanced (S) dressage classes.
The sire of DiMaggio, Don Primero, was the 1980' Bundeschampion and then highly successful in dressage at Grand Prix level under Karin Rehbein.
DiMaggio's dam, Winnipeg, won the I-award in an in-hand class for the area Sottrum and produced Werther's Echte (by Werther), who was successful up to advanced level dressage. The dam's sire World Cup I operated as stallion performance test winner, two-time DLG Reserve Champion Stallion and Hanoverian Stallion of the Year 1997.
So to round up, Destano II has the movement, temperament, pedigree and ability to make a top class competitor and breeding prospect.
