We had a great time at this year State Championship. Flowervale Florenz my 6yr old Florencio gelding was Reserve Novice Champion at his first big show. Flowervale Florenz handled the atmosphere like a seasoned campaigner.

The novice was a really strong field which show a great depth of talent for the future of Australian Dressage. Flowervale Florenz was very well behaved in both tests; he is getting stronger all the time. I’m really looking forward to what Flowervale Florenz can achieve in the future.

Birds Equisport Novice 2C – Florenz felt great it was a lovely flowing test with his big elastic movement he danced around the arena to come 2nd with 74.5%.

Birds Equisport Novice 2D – This test also felt great, although we had a mistake in the change of rein through trot as I got too caught up in how good he felt and forgot to ride the transition properly! We recovered and went on the finish the test with no more hiccups to come 3rd with 69.5%.

I also rode Penny Barrett’s Let’s Reminisce in the Flexible Fit Elementary competition he performed well in a really tough field and ended up 4th in the 3C with 69.9%, this little horse has talent to burn and will be an exciting horse to watch for the future.
